Everything you need to know about SimpleGames.online — the games, how scores work, privacy, and more.
About the Site
What is SimpleGames.online?
SimpleGames.online is a free collection of thirteen classic browser games — including Tic Tac Toe, Snake, Minesweeper, 2048, Hangman, Memory Match, Simon Says, and more. Every game runs entirely in your browser with no account required, no downloads, and no installation. Our goal is to make genuinely enjoyable classic games available to anyone, on any device, with zero friction.
Are all the games completely free?
Yes — every game on SimpleGames.online is free to play, and will remain free. The site is supported by Google AdSense advertising. This allows us to keep all games accessible without charging for access, requiring accounts, or monetizing user data in any way.
Do I need to create an account to play?
No. You never need to register, sign up, or provide an email address to play any game on SimpleGames.online. Just open the game page and start playing immediately. Your best scores for games that track them are saved automatically in your browser — no account needed.
How many games are on the site?
There are currently thirteen games across four categories: Tic Tac Toe, Memory Match, Rock Paper Scissors, Number Guess, Quick Math, Connect Four, Snake, Minesweeper, Word Scramble, Hangman, Simon Says, 2048, and Typing Race. Each game has its own page with instructions, strategy tips, history, and a FAQ section.
Scores and Progress
How are my scores saved?
High scores and best results are stored in your browser's localStorage — a storage area that belongs entirely to your device and browser. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party. It persists between visits as long as you use the same browser on the same device and do not clear your storage.
Why did my best score disappear?
Scores saved in localStorage are cleared when you clear your browser data, use a private or incognito window, or switch to a different browser or device. If you want scores to persist, play in a regular (non-private) browser window and avoid clearing site data for simplegames.online.
Can I share my scores with friends?
Currently, scores are stored locally on your device only — there is no account system or global leaderboard. You can share your score by taking a screenshot. If you would like to see leaderboard features in the future, let us know via the contact button — player feedback shapes what we build next.
Technical and Device Questions
Do the games work on mobile phones and tablets?
Yes. All games are designed to be fully playable on mobile and tablet devices. Games that use directional input (Snake, 2048) include on-screen D-pad controls. Games using letter input (Hangman, Word Scramble) use the device's on-screen keyboard. The layouts are responsive and adapt to all screen sizes.
Which browsers are supported?
SimpleGames.online works in all modern browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, and Opera — on both desktop and mobile. The games use standard HTML5, CSS3, and vanilla JavaScript with no proprietary features or plugins. If a game does not load, try refreshing the page or clearing your browser cache.
Do the games work offline?
Once you have visited a game page and it has been cached by your browser, it will typically work offline. However, this depends on your browser's caching behavior and is not guaranteed. For reliable offline use, open the page once while connected to allow it to cache fully.
The game is not loading or working correctly — what should I do?
First, try a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows or Cmd+Shift+R on Mac) to clear the cached version of the page. If that does not work, try opening the game in a different browser. If the problem persists, please contact us using the button below — let us know which game, which browser, and what device you are using so we can investigate.
Privacy and Data
What personal data does the site collect?
We collect no personal data directly. Your high scores are stored only on your own device. Our hosting server logs standard web server information (IP address, browser type, pages visited) that is used only for technical diagnostics and is not shared with or sold to third parties. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
Are the games safe for children?
Yes. All games contain age-appropriate content and are suitable for players of all ages. The word lists used in Hangman and Word Scramble contain only common, school-appropriate vocabulary. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. The site is designed to be a safe, clean environment for all users.
Why do I see advertisements?
SimpleGames.online uses Google AdSense to display ads. Advertising is what makes it possible for all games to be free. Google AdSense may use cookies to show personalized ads based on your browsing history. You can opt out of personalized ads at any time through Google's Ads Settings.
